Mr. Ryan’s teaching philosophy is that students learn the most when they build “hands on projects” based on a solid understanding of the theories of the disciplines involved. Mr. Ryan also believes that students should be exposed to as many “real world” college, engineering and business environments as possible so that they have an understanding of what is expected of them as they continue their professional and educational journey in life.
On a personal note, Mr. Ryan is a recent widower and has three children. His oldest daughter graduated from the College of Creative Studies with a BFA in Entertainment Arts & Character Development, his middle daughter is currently pursuing a Elementary teaching degree with an emphasis in Art at Macomb Community College and then transferring to a yet to be determined college. Mr. Ryan’s son is a senior in high school and also an early College of Macomb student for the last three years and should have his associate’s degree before he graduates high school in June 2016 He plans to play baseball at a Division 1 college and making a run for the MLB in the future. In case that doesn’t work out, he will be obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and furthering his education by becoming an Orthodontist.
Against his better judgment, Mr. Ryan’s family had two recent additions to the family in the last month … Laurel and Hardy Ryan. Mr. Ryan plans on acquiring a white American Shepard to combat all the cute fuzziness in the future.
